Portland Japanese Gardens

Location: Portland West Hills
Trails: 5.5 acres
Terrain: Paved paths and bridges for walking
Difficulty: Easy
Highlights: Five different styles of gardensP1030712

The Japanese Gardens of Portland are some of the best gardens you can visit in Oregon. The gardens offer a peaceful experience and many trails to explore for an hour or two. The trails are all very easy and accessible, with no serious inclines. There are five different styles of garden to explore, including an impressive Zen garden.

The gardens are beautiful in any season, but I’ve seen them in both Summer and Winter. They are especially breathtaking in Winter, when there is often a light dusting of snow and the ponds are frozen.

Though admission is $9.50 per adult, everyone should check out the Japanese Gardens at least once. For more information, visit the website of the Portland Japanese Gardens.
